Practicing Kindness: Creating a Whole New World
Do you still remember the very first time you have shared kindness with others? I mean, I know most of you will not remember it. But if you guys have a family of your own, I believe you can still remember that time when you are feeding your baby then your baby tries to feed you back. It is really adorable to have those kinds of moments, especially when we know that that baby did it of his or her own volition. You can really see that kindness is more like a subconscious drive that makes us care and share things to others, especially those who are in need.
As socials creatures, we humans tend to look out for each other. That’s how our brains are programmed through thousands of years of evolution. And that need for socializing with other humans in order to survive. We tend to please others by doing good things to them, sometimes expecting the same behavior they manifest towards us.
This feeling for giving things to others or doing something good for them is more rewarding on its own than receiving something in return. This feeling of being more awesome superior than you think since you did something is more than enough to lift up your mood and to motivate you in doing more great things in the long run.
The Habit of Thoughtful Act
As I have mentioned before, the habit of being thoughtful to others is already ingrained in our minds since we are born. Simple acts like just wishing someone a good day or treating a friend for dinner just because you like to are all acts of kindness on its own. Habitually doing this will make your perspective of pretty much all things in a positive light, making you happier, livelier, and always feel good.
Kindness Creates a Joyful Memory
One thing to note about is that when doing good things to others, you are implanting a seed on their minds. Making them feel more positive towards you. People will unconsciously give back the kindness that you have shown to them, repaying you two or tenfold of it. If other people have experienced your kindness, they are more willing to grant you any small favor that you can ask them, and be more appreciative of just even your presence around them.
Connecting Lives from One Another
Kindness is also a powerful key in turning strangers into close friends. A simple gesture of just saying “good morning” to a stranger can increase your chances of making him or her a friend. Kindness is also essential in maintaining long term relationship and friendship. Making others feel that you are always there for them will make them more secure and at ease around you. Kindness also is the key to get other’s loyalty towards you.
A Smile Can Make a Difference
Do you know what is brighter, warm and welcoming than the sunshine? The smile one can give to you and others. A simple smile, when talking or just showing to others, will come a long way in brightening up their day. Smiling will make others feel secure, happier and have a good attitude towards you or to other things around them. A smile is a universal sign of being in a good mood and a more approachable person.
Listen, You Can Hear Them
Showing others kindness will also make them talk about you or introduce you to other people as well. Thus making your network of friends a lot much bigger. It is heartwarming and prideful to hear others talk about your kindness and on how good of a person you are. This, in turn, makes you feel motivated to continue the good things that you do by showing others your kindness and respect.
Showing kindness not just to other people, but also in pretty much all things around us. It will reflect on how good and how pure our hearts are. By spreading kindness, we infect other people with it and thus make everyone around us a much better person than they already know. Doing any kind of kindness is pretty easy, and if we convey and channel that to other people, may it be old or young, unimaginable and awesome things can happen.
